In the Cannawise Owls Nest we are inspired and motivated to act on causes we support and the #ThankYouPlantMedicine campaign is just that. We support this campaign because we believe that everyone is unique and that there is no “one size fits all” when it comes to medicine, healing, and advocacy.
About the Campaign via #ThankYouPlantMedicine
#ThankYouPlantMedicine is a global grassroots movement to raise awareness about the healing potential of psychoactive plant medicines and psychedelic-assisted therapy.
The movement was born at the World Ayahuasca Conference in Girona, Spain, in June 2019 as a response to the stigma in society about psychedelic substances and their consumption. Despite the plethora of promising scientific research occurring at major universities and an increasing global advocacy by doctors and therapists for psychedelics (E.g: In 2019, both John Hopkins University and Imperial College of London opened centers for psychedelic research), those who work with, study and consume such substances do not feel comfortable to publicly express their personal experiences, given the judgment they might receive from their peers and society as a whole.
The mission of the #ThankYouPlantMedicine campaign is to raise global awareness about the benefits of psychoactive plant medicines such as psilocybin, ayahuasca, cannabis, peyote, huachuma, iboga, as well as psychedelic-assisted therapy with MDMA and LSD with a viral gratitude campaign to draw the attention of the mainstream media.
On February 20,2020, 100,000+ people will “come out” on social media worldwide with their stories of personal healing and transformation, using the hashtag #ThankYouPlantMedicine.
